A little more about me

Hey friend! It's so wonderful to meet you! Let me introduce myself - I'm a proud mama to three rambunctious little boys, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I also happen to have a degree in Photojournalism, which allowed me to work for NBC Universal right after college. But let's just say, the crazy 80-hour work weeks weren't quite my cup of tea.

You see, what truly sets my heart on fire is being out in the world, connecting with people and hearing their stories. I'm absolutely in love with the way that beauty can be found in every nook and cranny of this world, and I'm constantly inspired to capture the depth of human emotion in my photography. I've always been drawn to the power of human connection and the beauty of love, and that's why I became a photographer - to document and tell the stories that truly matter.

And when I'm not behind the camera, you might just find me scribbling away as a poet, or soaking up the sunshine and dancing through fields of wildflowers. I'm a total 2 on the enneagram, which means I'm all about spreading love and kindness wherever I go. And did I mention that I love my coffee iced and spending quality time with the people who matter most to me?

Now, you might be curious about the name Poppy Kate Photography. Well, Poppy Kate would have been the name of our daughter, a name that honors two incredibly important people in my life - my grandfather Poppy and my Nanny Kay. Even though we may never have a daughter of our own, I believe that the name Poppy Kate perfectly captures the soul-deep essence of the stories I strive to tell through my photography.
